In Loving Memory of Chrisoula Dimopoulos
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chrisoula "Soula" Dimopoulos, who left this world peacefully on November 15th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Soula was born in Lycuria, Greece to Dionysios and Kondilo Karatzias. She was the beloved sister of Sam & John, whom she adored dearly.
In 1977, at the age of 15, Soula and her brothers made the decision to leave Greece for a better life. Arriving in New York, settling with their uncle in Covina, California. There, she went straight to work for $10/week at their families restaurant. After a few months of savings and with some help, the 3 siblings were able to buy their first home together.
Soula met Niko in 1978 and were married 3 months later, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership for 48 years. Together, they built a home that overflowed with kindness and the foundation for a wonderful life, raising two sons and cherishing 4 grandchildren: George (Lena), Little Niko, Panos and Bill (Kristina), Big Niko and Louka. Soula was a woman of warmth, strength, and grace whose life revolved around her family and the joy they brought her. She took immense pride in being “Yiayia” to her grandsons, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love for them was boundless, and her presence will forever be felt in their lives.
Soula will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her bright smile, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. Whether through her profound generosity, a caring word, or a warm embrace, she offered love freely and unconditionally.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will honor her legacy by continuing to embody the kindness and love she showed every day.
A service to celebrate Soula's life will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Downey, California.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her love continue to guide those she cherished so dearly.
