Sandra (Sandie) Maxine Redman, age 83 of Orange, CA. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 27,2025 after an extended illness.
Sandie was born on June 9,1942 in Oakland, California to Robert Admire Lewis and Maxine Jardine.
The family moved to Southern California in the mid=1950’s. Sandie’s stepdad was a boilermaker building these wonderful powerplants along our coast, Consequently, they got to move every year or two. First to Redondo Beach, then El Segundo and then south to Huntington Beach. Then back north to Oxnard and finally to San Diego County.
For Sandie, these years brought wonderful memories of her youth. Her mother and her Aunt Shirley married brothers, both boilermakers. With 11 children combined, almost like siblings, they went everywhere and did everything together. Some Sundays they would attend church, and other weekends they would go water skiing. Sandie was an expert at waterskiing.
Sandie graduated high school in 1960 from Chula Vista High, went on to Brigham Young University for a short time before joining the U.S. Air Force.
Sandie married Robert Carter Wilson, Sadley the marriage ended but not before having two beautiful children John Robert and Karen Jean. Shortly after her divorce was final, she met Mark Redman. After a whirlwind romance of 63 days. they were married on September 27,1974 in Garden Grove, California. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints September 30, 1975, and from that union came their son, Michael William.
Besides being a wonderful mother, wife and homemaker, she devoted her life to her church. She had many callings, working with the children and youth, one of her favorite callings was spending 6 years teaching early morning seminary to the Youth of the Church and serving with her husband in the temple.
Remaining to cherish Sandie’s memory are husband of 51 years, Mark William Redman, her son, John (Annalys) Wilson, her daughter, Karen (Shawn) Larsen, and son Michael Redman (Paula). 8 grandchildren: Christopher (Erin) Larsen, Scott Larsen, Anneliese (Bryson) Wilson Higgins, Alex (Kalise) Wilson, Thomas Redman, Gillian Redman, Townsend Redman, and Graham Redman. Great grandchildren: Holdyn Higgins, Raleigh Higgins, Kiera Lucas, Isla Wilson, Ivyana Wilson, and Bobby Larsen. Her brother Michael (Billie) Farrell, sister Shannon Guillory, and brother Charlie (Lori) Farrell
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carole.
Her services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 674 South Yorba Street, Orange, California at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 15, 2025. There will be a viewing at 10:00 am prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:30 am on Monday, November 17 at the Santa Ana Cemetery, 1919 E Santa Clara Avenue, Santa Ana, California.
